Built around your privacy

Your money data is yours. We've designed Mikdar so most of it never leaves your phone.

What we don't do

  • No analytics SDK — we don't track which screens you visit.
  • No advertising. No third-party ad networks. Ever.
  • No selling, sharing, or monetising your data.
  • No background uploads of your transactions to our servers.
  • No mandatory account — every core feature works signed out.

What's optional and on your terms

  • Google sign-in — only needed to enable Drive backup. You can delete your account in-app, anytime.
  • Drive backup — files are AES-256 encrypted before upload. Only your PIN can open them.
  • Smart Scan OCR — uses your own Gemini API key. Off by default.

Frequently asked

If your question isn't here, email us — we read everything.

Is Mikdar really free?
Yes. The current version has no paid features, no in-app purchases, and no ads. A future version may introduce an optional subscription for power features, but everything available today stays free.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Every core feature — transactions, debts, budgets, calculators, reports — works completely offline. Internet is only needed for the optional Google Drive backup, optional Google sign-in, and the optional Smart Scan OCR.
How accurate are the Zakat and Miras calculators?
The calculators are built on widely accepted Hanafi-school principles and are useful as a planning tool. They are educational, not a fatwa. Before paying a significant Zakat amount or distributing an inheritance, please consult a qualified scholar to confirm your situation.
What happens if I forget my PIN?
During setup, Mikdar gives you a 24-character recovery key. Write it down or save it somewhere safe (a password manager works well). If you forget the PIN but have the recovery key, you can recover full access. If you lose both, your encrypted data cannot be recovered — this is by design so that even we cannot access your records.
Where is my data stored?
On your phone, in an encrypted SQLite database. The only data that reaches our servers is a small profile document (name, email, country) — and only if you sign in with Google. If you enable Drive backup, the file uploaded to your own Google Drive is AES-256 encrypted before it leaves your phone.
Can I use Mikdar for my small business?
Yes. The Invoices module, Debt Tracker, Recurring Transactions, and per-customer ledgers are built with small shops and freelancers in mind. It is not a replacement for full bookkeeping software, but it covers daily cash flow, lending records, and client billing well.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app → Settings → Backup → Delete account. That removes your profile from our servers, deletes your authentication record, and revokes Drive access. If you no longer have the app, see the Account Deletion page for an email-based request route.
What languages does Mikdar support?
English, বাংলা (Bengali), and العربية (Arabic) with full right-to-left layout support. The interface, numbers, dates, and currency formatting all adapt to your chosen language.
